Usagi's Powers

Who has the greatest amount of power? A lot of people say that Usagi is not in fact the strongest senshi, but [insert name] is. Well, I'm going to disprove these theories with basic facts and pointing out real evidence to the best of my abilities.

First of all, I'm mostly going to be following the manga version of Sailormoon in here, because most of the information needed to back up my logic is in it. You are welcome to email me and argue anything I might have in here, but I feel it's only safe to warn you: I'm almost ALWAYS right. [ ^__^ ] I gather my info very meticulously (almost the only thing that I do!) and as accurately as possible.

Sailormoon vrs. Sailorgalaxia

Question: If Sailorgalaxia is more powerful than Sailormoon, then why was Sailorgalaxia taken over by Chaos, who proved to be too strong for her, and was then dispelled by Sailormoon, who proved to be too strong for Chaos?

Each senshi draws their power from the planet they were named after. Since Sailorgalaxia is named after a galaxy, she should in fact be able to draw on her power from the galaxy she is currently in. Since she has literally millions and sometimes even billions and trillions of planets whose power she can draw on, then Galaxia should be more powerful than Sailormoon whose power comes from the piddly old moon, right?

Wrong! Remember, it may be that Sailormoon later becomes Sailorcosmos, and what's cosmos? It's another word for universe. A person must already be able to come into this kind of power over time; they must already have the ability to be able to draw upon it. So Sailormoon, over the years she had fought with countless villains, was slowly coming into her ultimate form.

And, just to be fair for all Galaxia fans, Galaxia did dispel Chaos, not Sailormoon [anime]. Sailormoon just gave her the extra strength to do it. However, it was Sailormoon who survived through every hit and smack and punch. Yes, Usagi had help from her friends, but she was also going through the greatest mental anguish in the entire series! Her Mamo-chan was dead, Chibiusa would never come to existence, and all her friends had died for her. Followed upon that was the death of ChibiChibi, whom Usagi loved as another daughter. It would have been much easier to roll over and die so she would be with her friends, to stay in her dream world.

But that wasn't the case; she couldn't let the death of her loved ones go without meaning. I think she might have thought what Rei would have told her when she reached Paradise if she had died. o.O She didn't have that help in the manga though. Sailorcosmos came right up to her and said, look, you're the one who is going to have to defeat Chaos.

Sailormoon vrs. Sailorsaturn

You have Sailormoon on one hand, and Sailorsaturn in another. Sailorsaturn is the senshi of destruction; she who destroyed the Silver Millennium in the manga. Her power is almost immeasurable!

Almost.

While Sailorsaturn has the power to destroy the world, Sailormoon has the power to recreate it. Creation is stronger than destruction because it takes more strength to live than it does to die, and the same could be said about life and death. It was Usagi who fought against Mistress 9 and the Silence; she was the one who fought to protect Hotaru, even though she knew that the evil was living inside of Hotaru. It was Sailormoon who saved baby Hotaru against all odds while everyone else had given up on them.

Hotaru has the power to completely obliterate the world, but with the cost of her life. Usagi can bring life back to it, without the cost of her life (later in the series). Sailorsaturn's attack is used only as a last resort. In the manga, she was the person who destroyed the Moon Kingdom and its attackers. Queen Selenity sent everyone into the future; not just the good people, because that was how the power of the Silver Crystal worked. She died, recreating the life that once existed on the Moon Kingdom. In the R movie, Usagi used the Silver Crystal to protect her friends when the meteorite they were on would crash into the world. She died because of it, but Fiore brought her back to life with the juice from a flower that looked strangely like the lotus flower. (hmmmm . . .)

However, the Silver Crystal blossomed into a lotus flower shape, and Sailormoon's ability to use more of its power strengthened. The same could be said with the more fighting. She went from Sailormoon to Supersailormoon to Eternalsailormoon, and in the manga, she might have very well went on to be Sailorcosmos though the real one passed the title onto Usagi.

Sailormoon's Power

And if that wasn't enough, Sailorcosmos later got into a fight with Chaos. When she lost faith in herself, she went into the past to, guess who? Usagi! She said herself that Usagi's strength was greater than her own. When Sailorcosmos lost faith in herself, she went back into the past, hiding herself in a form that she knew Usagi would have weak spot for. A cute little girl named Chibichibi. ^__^ Through Usagi's own optomism and need to help everyone, she regained her own source of power.

In the anime, Galaxia had sent her starseed to find someone who would be strong enough to destroy the evil entity that was taking her own body over. And who was this person Chibichibi ran to?

Usagi.
